Peter Capaldi announced as the 12th Doctor Who

The 12th Doctor Who was finally unveiled on Sunday in a live BBC show presented by Zoe Ball with guest interviews from the other 11 Doctors.  With much excitement and anticipation, the 12 Doctor was announced to be Peter Capaldi, a Glasgow-born actor.  You may know him from TV Shows like BBC's The Thick of It (Malcolm Tucker) and The Walking Dead (in the minor role as Lucien Calvin).

Of being the 12th Doctor, Capaldi reportedly said "Being asked to play The Doctor is an amazing privilege.  Like the Doctor himself I find myself in a state of utter terror and delight.  I can't wait to get started."

Review of Doctor Who: The Bells of Saint John S7Ep7

The new episodes of Doctor Who have finally arrived, bringing with them the official introduction of the new companion (The Impossible Girl) and the return of a familiar foe. This Version of Clara Oswin Oswald has returned and not only is she a nanny like in The Snowman episode, but she also is (becomes) super tech savvy like she was in The Asylum of The Daleks.  "Run you clever boy and remember".
