Oldboy remake set to hit theaters Oct. 25

Continuing the American tradition of stealing movie concepts from Asian countries and remaking a watered-down version of them, the American remake of Oldboy is set to be released Oct. 25.

The film’s plots is very similar to the 2003 international thriller - “An advertising executive is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement.  When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on a an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his punishment, only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.” –IMDB

Personally, I’m excited about this film for the sole reason that Spike Lee (Malcolm X, Do The Right Thing) will be directing and Samuel L. Jackson and Josh Brolin will be starring in it.  As far as I’m concerned, any movie with Sammy J is a movie that’s worth seeing…. (even if it’s Snakes on a Plane).
