Super Hero movies tend to suck but Iron Man is one of my
go-to examples of how it can be done right. So far I have really enjoyed the Iron
Man movies. Tony Stark is just
such a refreshing character to watch. This movie looks to be a lot darker than
the rest but it also seems like a natural evolution for the franchise. I'll
definitely be seeing it opening night.
Maybe this movie is more appealing to literary nerds but I
think just about everybody will enjoy it. There really isn't a chance that
anybody could keep me from seeing a Baz Lurhman film. It has a fantastic cast,
sets, and costumes (I am a sucker for pretty costumes) that just look so damn
gorgeous. This movie is also pretty much guaranteed to have a phenomenal
soundtrack, I already want to buy it just from what I heard in the trailer.
Book Worms will be flocking to see this movie in droves and I don't think it
will disappoint them. Fun Fact: a collective of worms are called a
clat, a clew, a bed, or a bunch.
Star Trek Into
Darkness (May 17)
What can I say? This looks like it is going to be another
great film and I am so thrilled that my celebrity crush Benedict Cumberbatch
will be in it. I would watch this movie for the man-candy alone but the fact
that it is the continuation of a great series and awesome reboot just makes me
all the more excited to see it. I giggle like a geeky school girl whenever I
see the trailer in a theatre.
I am figuring that this movie is going to be a little like I
am Legend meets Terra Nova, and I anticipate it being much better than
Oblivion. I also can't resist watching how Will Smith and Jayden Smith acting
together for an entire movie pans out.
This is a movie for every nerd whether you are just a Joss
Whedon fan or a Shakespeare fan. I really love the 1993 version of this play as
well as the BBC's contemporary version in Shakespeare retold (2007) so this
movie has a high standard to meet. But if anybody can make a quirky and cool
modern version of Much Ado About Nothing, I am sure it is Joss Whedon. The cast
is full of Whedon regulars and the trailer definitely has a cool vibe going on.
This movie is a must see for me and I can't wait to nerd out while watching it.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (October 4)
We have all been waiting for this
movie for a long time. I was high school when Sin City first came out. Now the
long awaited second film is slated to be in theatres in October. Frank Miller
wrote two new stories just for the screen play, one of which is starring Joseph
Gordon-Levitt. We also get a whole lot more of Marv who will be joined by Eva
Green and Josh Brolin as Dwight.
